Production Notes

Petit Verdot is one of the six red grape varietals that are grown in Bordeaux, France. Its name loosely translates to“little green one”, a reference to its late ripening behavior. Petit Verdot thrives in warm climates, and although it is traditionally used in small amounts for blending, we have had an exceptional vineyard block of Petit Verdot that has produced a limited quantity of wine worthy to be bottled on its own. Petit Verdot is known for its color, structure, and tannins, and this wine lives up to these attributes. The 2018 Petit Verdot is filled with aromas of wet stone, cassis, clove, and forest floor. The entry is soft, rich, and bursting with flavors of blueberry, black tea, clove, and tobacco. The juicy mid-palate segues into a finish consisting of silky integrated tannins.

Pair with roasted meats, hearty stews, and dark chocolate.
